A Brand-First Mobile Marketplace For American Brands and Consumers

Facebook is pushing ahead with the development of its own mobile commerce platform, Facebook Shops. The app offers an exclusive shopping experience for users on their phones, and has already become one of the top e-commerce platforms in Europe and North America. It is also the sixth-largest company in the world, with over 300 million users. Wish was founded by two Google engineers, Peter Sculczewski and Danny Zhang, in 2011. As of September 2017, Wish has more than 5 million active customers and 1.5 million orders placed per day, including around 250,000 new customers every day.

People always wonder what the antidote is to Amazon, an eCommerce empire that takes pride in ever-improving efficiency and using robots to replace humans. Maybe Poppy is our latest answer. Poppy is a fashion and lifestyle-focused marketplace. When you open the Poppy mobile app, which is the primary form of the user interface, you can explore thousands of unique brands with distinctive identities and various aesthetic choices. From indie yoga apparel brands to succulent gift boxes for birthdays, you can easily discover goodies to light up your day.

There is no other inspirational marketplace quite like this. Poppy has nearly 100 million products curated from all indie brands all over the internet. It is more like a “Shoppable Pinterest” or mobile-friendly “Google Shopping”. And it is an ever-growing platform with daily updates of 15,000 products.  So you may ask why we need another shopping platform like this? Why don’t we just all stick to Amazon?

In the United States, consumers are more cautious with their money than they were in the past, but that has not stopped them from being more creative and innovative. For example, the company created a new handbag line called Poppy, which is more affordable than its traditional offerings. With a partnership with Apple, Nike launched the Nike+ sports kit. The new line reaches beyond the traditional sports apparel category and has surpassed expectations. Moreover, iToys and the Me2 mobile app were developed to address parent fears about video games, addressing the concerns of parents and aimed to make them more attractive to children.

The recession has forced consumers to be more conservative with their spending, but it has also made them more creative. For instance, Coach has created a line of affordable and playful handbags called Poppy. A partnership between the two companies led to the launch of a game called ME2, which rewards superior virtual skills. A brand-first mobile marketplace for American brands is essential for the success of any mobile app.
